Located in Longueuil, SOSEQUIPMENT specializes in the rental, sale, training, repair and transportation of lifting and handling equipment.
Your role
The Storekeeper is responsible for the management, classification and distribution of parts and supplies required for SOS Equipment operations. He maintains an accurate inventory and provides efficient support to technicians, the technical advisor and the workshop coordinator. His role is essential to ensure smooth repairs, parts availability and quality service to internal and external customers. He works closely with the Operations Manager. Monday to Friday, day shift.
Main responsibilities
1. Inventory management
- Receive, check and classify incoming parts and supplies.
- Maintain inventory accuracy in the system
- Carry out cyclical inventories and participate in the annual inventory.
- Identify replenishment needs and prepare orders according to minimum thresholds.
- Ensure the cleanliness, safety and organization of the store area (shelving, receiving areas, returns, etc.).
2. Sourcing and ordering
- Prepare and place parts orders with suppliers according to the needs of technicians and ongoing projects.
- Negotiate prices, delivery times and contractual terms.
- Track orders, delivery times and returns of non-conforming parts.
- Optimize logistics costs and delivery times.
- Maintain good relations with local suppliers and international partners.
3. Distribution and workshop support
- Prepare parts for ongoing work orders and ensure delivery and follow-up of parts to technicians.
- Participate in planning material requirements for equipment assembly and maintenance projects.
4. Administrative follow-up
- Rigorously document all parts entering and leaving the system.
- Maintain product data sheets,. serial numbers and associated suppliers.
- Collaborate with the administrative department to match purchase orders and invoices.
Skills required
- Excellent organization and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a mechanical and industrial environment.
- Team spirit, autonomy and rigor.
- Good communication with technicians, workshop coordinator and operations manager.
- Basic knowledge of mechanics or heavy equipment parts (an asset).
- Comfortable with computer systems
Job requirements
- Completed high school diploma (DEP in mechanics, logistics or related field an asset).
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role in a store or technical warehouse.
- Knowledge of the lifting equipment or heavy machinery sector (an asset).
- Ability to lift loads and work in a workshop environment.
- Valid driver's license.
