LESSON PLAN
This course is designed for workers who need to work on equipment requiring energy control and lockout to ensure safety. The training complies with current legal and regulatory standards.
TARGET CUSTOMERS
Any person who has to carry out work on equipment whose energy sources must be controlled (zero energy) and/or in an enclosed space.
GOALS
- Identify the risks associated with different forms of energy that can cause unexpected movements in equipment that needs to be inactivated.
- Become familiar with the principles, basic techniques and main tools relating to the control of equipment energy sources.
- Understand and put into practice simple or complex lockout procedures.
- Interpret the instructions of a lockout permit.
DURATION
- Theory: 3 hours
METHODOLOGY
- Presentation and interactive animation.
THEORETICAL CONTENT
- Legal framework and definitions
- Roles and responsibilities (owner, worker, initiator, etc.)
- Types of energy
- Risk elimination and control
- Lockout equipment
- Management of various systems, files and forms
PEDAGOGICAL APPROACH
- Interactive theoretical presentation.
ASSESSMENT
- Assessment of knowledge using an exam.
