Located in Longueuil, SOSEQUIPMENT specializes in the rental and sale of lifting and handling equipment. The company also offers its customers repair and maintenance of equipment, transport service, as well as training to obtain an operator card.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the President, you will be responsible for SOSEQUIPMENT operations with respect to the performance of the daily operations of the rental department, the mechanical workshop and the parts department. You will be required to implement actions that will optimize cost management, achieve quality standards and increase customer satisfaction. You will play a key role in maintaining a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement while ensuring a high level of employee engagement, a safe environment and quality.

Main responsibilities:

Direction

  • Be a stakeholder in management committee meetings
  • Identify current and future issues/risks that may slow down or even block the achievement of the company's objectives
  • Propose solutions and collaborate with the rest of the management team to ensure the achievement of the company's objectives and profitability
  • Conduct daily meetings (minimum 2 per week) with your team to identify employees’ needs and guide them towards the tasks to be accomplished

Workshop operation 

  • Manage mechanical workshop operations;
  • In collaboration with his team, coordinate the activities of the rental department and follow up (rental, sales, invoicing, detection and follow-up of customer breakdowns, etc.)
  • Recommend ways to improve department efficiency (shop, parts, yard) and reduce equipment downtime. Participate and lead the implementation of improvements;
  • Distribute and assign repair and maintenance work to employees based on daily workload using technological means implemented by the organization
  • Manage and maintain workshop productivity and profitability
  • Track parts supply requests and ensure operations and repairs run smoothly
  • Ensure the safety, cleanliness and quality of the workshop
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and guidelines regarding health and safety at work for its employees and participate in committees

Human resources 

  • Participate in the recruitment, selection and retention of the workshop team
  • Participate in the development and training of its employees
  • Prevent and manage conflict situations by maintaining an environment of respect and exchange
  • Ensure a positive and pleasant working environment in the workshop
  • Write various reports (warning, incident report, etc.)

Qualifications required:

  • Have technical skills specific to the rental industry or in mechanics
  • Promote teamwork and good interpersonal relationships
  • Demonstrate leadership and open-mindedness: ability to interact easily with others, to lead and motivate a team to meet the requirements established by the operations schedule
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills;
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and meet deadlines
