LESSON PLAN

This course is aimed at workers and operators who must handle, attach and move loads using lifting equipment, respecting the safety rules and standards in force.

The training aims to develop the skills necessary for choosing the right slinging equipment, carry out the load calculations, recognize the lifting signals and ensure a safe work during operations.

We are one approved training organization by the Labor Market Partners Commission, for the purposes of the application of the Act promoting the development and recognition of workforce skills.

DURATION

  • Theoretical: 4 hours
  • Practical assessment 30 to 45 minutes

  • Types of slings: chains, cables, straps, accessories and their characteristics
  • Load capacity and reading of nameplates
  • Visual inspection of slings before use
  • Failure recognition and disposal criteria
  • Attachment Methods and Sling Angles
  • Load calculations and center of gravity concepts
  • Standardized communication and hand signals
  • Risk factors related to the work environment
  • Good lifting practices with cranes and handling equipment
  • Maintenance, storage and traceability of slinging equipment
  • Theoretical exam with choice of answers

PRACTICAL CONTENT

Assessment of candidate skills according to:

  • Inspection and selection of appropriate slinging equipment
  • Identification of failures and verification of compliance
  • Choice of attachment method according to the type and weight of the load
  • Application of good safe lifting practices
  • Effective communication between team members and respect for hand signals
  • Demonstration of skills acquired according to current safety standards
