Fall Protection / Working at Height

LESSON PLAN

This training is aimed at workers with or without experience, who must work at height, either on a portable ladder, a stepladder, a mobile staircase, a scaffold, with a horizontal, vertical or mixed lifeline, on a roof with a slide, with a safety harness, etc. This training gives the safety criteria to know. The training complies with the LSST (art. 49 & 51) and mentions how to work at height safely and in compliance with standards, laws and regulations.

We are a training organization approved by the Labor Market Partners Commission for the purposes of implementing the Act to promote the development and recognition of workforce skills (approval number 0055240).

PRICE

  • The cost of the training is 550 $ plus taxes 

DURATION

  • Theory: 4 hours 
  • Practical assessment: Ensure the participant is wearing and adjusting their harness correctly

GOALS 

At the end of this training, the participant will be made aware of the prevention of falls from height. He will be able to identify the different fall arrest mechanisms and inspect the condition of his own equipment.

METHODOLOGY

  • Theoretical presentation on Power Point
  • Distribution of a questionnaire at the end of the training
  • Equipment inspection and safety harness adjustment by each participant

THEORETICAL CONTENT

  • Introduction
  • Laws and standards
  • Falls Statistics
  • Identification of the persons concerned and their responsibilities
  • Recognition of work at height situations
  • Arrangements necessary to work safely
  • Different risks of falls
  • General criteria for using devices and equipment
  • Verification of fall protection systems: guardrails, inspection and storage of harnesses, anchor points, classification of harnesses, verification of D-rings, lanyard/energy absorber.
  • Harness adjustment (demonstration)
  • Estimated stopping distance required

At the end of the training, a certificate and a skills card will be sent to you by email.
